A chatbot for restaurants that answers guests during the dinner rush

Restaurant messages peak exactly when nobody can answer them: in the hour before service and during it. The questions are simple and constant. Are you open Monday, do you have gluten-free options, can we walk in, is there a kids' menu, can I bring my own wine. Every answer is already on your menu or your website, but a host with a full room cannot type replies.

The agent answers from your menu, hours, and policies, and it stays current when you upload a new menu. It does not connect to your reservation system or POS, so it never confirms a table or takes an order. Table requests, private events, and serious allergy questions go to your staff with the details already collected.

What restaurants support teams run into

  • Messages arrive during service and wait until close, by which time the guest has booked somewhere else.
  • Staff answer the same hours, parking, and dietary questions every day.
  • Menus change with the season and old answers keep circulating.
  • Large group and private event enquiries get buried among routine questions.

Questions the agent answers on its own

From your approved content, in the customer's language, at any hour.

  • "Are you open on Monday?"
  • "Do you have gluten-free or vegan options?"
  • "Do you take walk-ins on Friday night?"
  • "Is there a kids' menu?"
  • "Can I bring my own wine, and is there a corkage fee?"
  • "Is the terrace dog friendly?"
  • "Do you deliver, or is it takeaway only?"
  • "Where is the nearest parking?"

When it hands off to your team

With its own reason, an urgency, and a summary. Your team is notified by email, Telegram, or SMS.

  • A guest wants a table: the agent collects date, time, party size, and contact details, then hands off so staff confirm in your reservation system.
  • A birthday, rehearsal dinner, or buyout enquiry: route to the events manager with the date and headcount.
  • A guest asks if a dish is safe for an allergy: hand off so a person checks with the kitchen.
  • A complaint about a visit or a takeaway order: escalate so a manager replies the same day.

What to load into the knowledge base

  • Current menu, uploaded as a PDF or synced from your menu page
  • Allergen and dietary chart
  • Opening hours, including holiday hours
  • Reservation, walk-in, and large group policy
  • Private dining and event packages
  • Delivery and takeaway information, with the links you publish

Channels

The website widget on your menu, hours, and contact pages. Telegram if your regulars message you there. WhatsApp is coming soon and is not available yet. The agent does not answer phone calls, and SMS is only used to alert your staff about a handoff.

Setup, in practice

Upload the current menu and the allergen chart first, then sync your hours, reservations, and events pages. Write escalation rules for table requests, events, every allergy or cross-contact question, and complaints. Require a name and phone number before the chat starts so staff can confirm a table. Each time the menu changes, upload the new version and remove the old one so the agent answers from one menu.

FAQ

Can it book a table?

No. It does not connect to your reservation system. It collects the date, time, party size, and the guest's contact details, then hands off. Your staff get an email, Telegram, or SMS notification and confirm the table.

Can it take an order for pickup or delivery?

No. It does not take orders or payments and does not connect to your POS. It answers questions about your menu and points guests to the ordering link you publish on your website.

Is it safe for allergy questions?

It is built to answer only from the allergen information you load, but treat its answer as a guide, not a guarantee. Set an escalation rule so every allergy or cross-contact question goes to a person who checks with the kitchen.

What happens when our menu changes?

Upload the new menu or update the menu page and remove the old version. Every channel answers from the new content. The overview lists recent handoffs with the agent's reason and summary. Those reasons show what to add next, such as a new dish guests ask about.

Can guests reach it by phone or WhatsApp?

No. There is no phone or voice channel. It runs in the website widget, Telegram, and Discord. WhatsApp is coming soon and is not available yet.
